Electrolysis Hair Removal

Electrolysis Hair Removal – Permanent Hair Removal for a Smoother, More Confident You
Unwanted facial hair can be frustrating, but electrolysis offers a permanent solution for those looking to remove it safely and effectively. At Evolve Skin Rejuvenation Clinic, we specialise in professional electrolysis for facial hair removal, helping you achieve smooth, hair-free skin with confidence.
Electrolysis is the only FDA-approved method for permanent hair removal. It works by using a tiny probe to deliver a small electrical current to the hair follicle, disrupting its ability to grow. Over a series of treatments, this process permanently eliminates unwanted hair, leaving your skin smooth and free from stubble or irritation.
Electrolysis is suitable for all skin types and hair colors and is especially beneficial for those struggling with:
✔ Hormonal hair growth due to PCOS or menopause
✔ Persistent facial hair that keeps returning after waxing, plucking, or shaving
✔ Ingrown hairs that cause irritation or bumps

How do I book?
How does electrolysis work?
Electrolysis is the only FDA-approved method for permanent hair removal. It works by using a tiny probe to deliver a small electrical current to the hair follicle, disrupting its ability to grow. Over a series of treatments, this process permanently eliminates unwanted hair, leaving your skin smooth and free from stubble or irritation.
We use blend & Diathermy Techniques with electrolysis
This also uses a single probe and combines the above modalities to produce a small amount of heated lye to destroy follicular tissue.
We use multiple techniques depending on your hair and skin condition.
Diathermy is preferred if you have a lot of hair or really tough to remove as it is faster and breaks down the strength of the follicle and is safer for darker skin types.
Blend is for areas of less hair, Curly hair follicles & clients that have good skin health & regime at home.
What should I do to prepare for an electrolysis treatment?
To prepare for the treatment you must not pluck, wax or shave the area.
But don’t worry your hair does not need to be too long! As long as you can feel the hair above the skin when you run your hand across, it is long enough for us to see with our magnifying lights!
Your first visit with us will always be a consultation, in this visit we allow up to a 20 minute session of hair removal complimentary.
Go through what to expect from electrolysis.
Check your suitability to the treatment, explain risks, assess what is influencing your hair growth, and go through a thorough treatment plan. You will also recieve a sterex after care cream free of charge to take home to heal your skin faster.
What do I need to do after treatment?
You are given precise written aftercare instructions that come to your email that night of your service, so you know exactly what to do after treatment to maximise the condition of your skin and what you must do between treatments to prepare for your next visit. We recommend the use of sterex aftercare cream/ gel or O cosmedics medi soothe gel which is calming, soothing and anti-bacterial.
Must Do’s / Dont’s
- Wear SPF daily
- Do NOT pick / scratch the area
- Do Not remove the hair by tweezing or waxing. Only shaving or trimming with little scissors is allowed
- If you ever think something is not correct always contact us ASAP
Skin Care recommended to use between sessions are:
Inskin Co calm & Soothe sheet masks
Inskin Co Tremella & B3 serum
Inskin Co Arbutin & B3 serum
O Cosmedics B3 serum – as this helps prevent post inflammatory pigmentation
Mineral Pro SPF – To protect your skin from the sun
3D hyaluronic acid – To keep your skin hydrated best for healing Antioxidant Gel Cleanser – Gentle enough to use straight after an electrolysis session
Skin health is important when having a service like electrolysis – we suggest alternating facials with your treatments & adding LED post treatment to speed up healing.
After your treatment, mild redness and sensitivity are normal and typically subside within an hour or so. However, everyone’s skin reacts differently, and some may experience slight irritation for a little longer.
If you notice persistent redness, swelling, or irritation lasting more than 48 hours, please contact us. We may need to adjust your treatment settings for your next session to ensure the best results for your skin.
To prevent irritation or infection, avoid wearing a face mask for the first 24 hours post-treatment. If wearing a mask is necessary, ensure it is brand new to minimize the risk of bacteria affecting your skin.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
There is no set number of treatments, as everyone’s hair growth pattern is unique and influenced by various factors, including:
- Hormones (e.g., menopause, PCOS, pregnancy)
- Medications
- Genetics & ethnicity
- Transgender hormone therapy
On average, most clients notice a reduction in hair growth after approximately 10 sessions, with treatments continuing until full clearance is achieved. The exact number of sessions varies based on individual hair cycles and consistency with appointments. Our goal is to progressively weaken and eliminate the hair, ensuring smooth, long-lasting results, ensuring skin integrity.
How Effective is Electrolysis?
Electrolysis is highly effective and provides permanent results, as long as you stay committed to your treatment plan and follow the recommended aftercare.
For the best outcome, regular sessions are essential. Treatments typically start weekly or fortnightly, depending on your hair growth cycle, as we aim to target hairs in their active growth phase for maximum effectiveness. Staying consistent ensures steady progress toward smooth, hair-free skin.
